Apply for a Place at the Summer SchoolWe are accepting applications for SUISS from January 2013. Please include two passport photos with your application. Application forms can be obtained directly from the SUISS Administrator or downloaded here: Text and Context: To secure a place on the Text and Context course and to guarantee accommodation, we advise you to apply by the 26th April 2013 or as early as possible. To be eligible for scholarships, applications must be received by Friday, 22 March 2013.
When applying, Text and Context students must submit to The Administrator: - 1 completed SUISS Text and Context application form - 2 passport photos - 2 letters of recommendation from academic referees who are familiar with the work of the applicant and can certify the student’s fluency in English - £100 deposit*
*Unless the student’s attendance is solely dependent on a full scholarship award. For all other applicants, the deposit is refunded only if the application is unsuccessful.
Creative Writing: Because places on the Creative Writing programme are limited, SUISS will conduct three application rounds, subject to availability. The closing dates for these rounds are as follows:

When applying, Creative Writing students must submit to The Administrator: - 1 completed SUISS Creative Writing application form - 2 passport photos - 1 letter of recommendation from an academic referee (or person of similar standing) who is familiar with the work of the applicant and can certify the student’s fluency in English - £100 deposit - written work samples of: EITHER a single work of prose or drama (max. 3,000 words) OR a selection of poetry (max. 50 lines) If the application is successful, a place will then be reserved upon receipt of an additional instalment of £200. For All Applicants: Send your application to the SUISS Administrator, either by e-mail or by mail. All those who have applied by the recommended date will be informed of the result of their applications within one month of applying. Applications from the United States should be sent to the College of Global Studies at Arcadia University or to the Institute for Study Abroad at Butler University. American teachers applying through the English-Speaking Union should apply to their local branch of the ESU. For contact details for Arcadia, Butler and the ESU, go here. NB: Students applying for a scholarship should check the relevant closing date (eg the relevant closing date for CWIT is later than the first closing date for Creative Writing). Late applications will be considered only where vacancies remain. |
